I apologize for the lack of work as of late, it’s quite a busy time. I just got an opportunity to display work at a small family owned gallery in Manhattan called the Medalia. The show is called “C/O Movement in Comix” if anyone is interested in seeing! Some amazing works are here in this gallery!
For more info visit here~
This is one of the pics on display at the gallery, promoting my graphic novel in progress: © Animal Arithmetic.  They are studies of the main character, Kay Dee (The Fox).
The style of the story is in black and white with pops of color, to signify the seriousness of the characters’ conflicts in their environment. Inspiration for this idea derives from the days of graffiti warfare, especially movements of Banksy, Swoon Studio, Keith Haring, and Basquiat. The energy of the lines comes from active listening of Hip Hop poetry.

Every time this post comes around, I have to explain this.

Watch Dennou Coil, the most underrated anime pretty much ever.

  • Yes, this is the standard of animation throughout the series.
  • AND THIS IS A FILLER EPISODE.
  • It’s basically about kids with what’s essentially Google Glass: The Game. The whole world is affected by this game. Traffic lights, school, anything.
  • It’s good in the beginning and gets really, really good by the end.
  • Shows the vulnerabilities of children.
  • Well-written children in general. They fall under some tropes but they don’t suffer from the usual fallacies of writing children into series.
  • And yeah, the filler episodes are really good. The whole series is worth watching.

Reblogging as a reminder to myself

 wish this show was longer.

PLEASE WATCH DENNOU COIL IT’S REALLY COOL!!!!!

Word of the day triple play: PLANTIGRADE, DIGITIGRADE, UNGULIGRADE

the-natural-logophile:

Three forms of terrestrial mammal locomotion:

PLANTIGRADE: “sole walking”—animals walk by “planting” the full soles of their feet on the ground

DIGITIGRADE: “finger/toe walking”—animals walk with all or most of the length of their toes (“digits”), but not the full soles of their feet

UNGULIGRADE: “hoof walking”—animals walk on only their nails, usually hooves (as in “ungulates”)

Concept art and animation panels for Treasure Planet 2

Before Treasure Planet was shown in cinemas, Thomas Schumacher, then president of Walt Disney Feature Animation, mentioned the possibilities of having direct-to-video releases for Treasure Planet as well as a television series. He stated that they already had “a story and some storyboards and concepts up and a script for what a sequel to [Treasure Planet] could be,” and that they also had a “notion” of what the series would be.

Director Jun Falkenstein and screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos began early development on Treasure Planet 2. In the sequel, Jim Hawkins and Kate, his love interest and classmate at the Royal Interstellar Academy, must team with Long John Silver to stop the villainous Ironbeard from freeing the inmates of Botany Bay Prison Asteroid. Willem Dafoe was set to voice Ironbeard. The sequel was canceled when Treasure Planet disappointed at the box office.
